Ultimately, Kim and his wife Dona return to Ades, where they confront the remnants of the force-field generator that had rendered the planet invisible and isolated. In a climactic moment, they manage to destroy the generator, restoring light and hope to Ades. The inhabitants, once resigned to despair, are now empowered to reclaim their freedom. The story concludes with Kim and Dona contemplating their future, realizing that their fight for freedom has only just begun.
