The story takes place in a world where the sun has been extinguished and the only light comes from the stars. The protagonist lives in a small town surrounded by vast fields of wheat that have grown to incredible heights, blocking out most of the starlight. As the seasons change, the protagonist's emotions shift with them. In the spring, they feel hope and renewal, but as summer approaches, their feelings turn to despair and desperation. The protagonist is unable to cope with the loss of sunlight and becomes increasingly isolated from society. The story explores themes of grief, isolation, and the human need for connection in a world without light.
