Robert Ames Bennet (1870-1954) was an American author and playwright. He was born in New York City and attended Columbia University. He wrote several plays, including The Great Divide (1906), The Easiest Way (1908), and The Copperhead (1913). He also wrote several novels, including The Valley of Silent Men (1922), The Trail of the Lonesome Pine (1908), and The Gentleman from Indiana (1915). He was a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the National Institute of Arts and Letters. He was also a member of the Authors League of America. He died in 1954 in New York City.
