Jewels of Gwahlur

Jewels of Gwahlur is a short story by Robert E. Howard, first published in the March 1935 issue of Weird Tales magazine. The story follows Conan the Cimmerian as he attempts to steal the fabled jewels of Gwahlur, a legendary lost city in the jungles of Kush. He is hired by a Stygian sorcerer, Thutmekri, to steal the jewels from the city's ruler, the mysterious Alkmeenon. Conan must battle his way through the city's many traps and monsters, as well as the treacherous Thutmekri, in order to claim the jewels for himself. The story is set in the Hyborian Age, a fictional period of history created by Howard for his stories about Conan. It is a time of sorcery and adventure, and the story is filled with action and suspense. It is a classic example of Howard's sword and sorcery style of writing.
