Valmiki

Valmiki is an ancient Indian sage who is believed to have written the epic poem, the Ramayana. He is also known as the Adi Kavi, or the first poet, and is credited with creating the first shloka, or verse, in Sanskrit literature. He is believed to have lived in the 8th or 7th century BCE. Valmiki is said to have been born as Ratnakara, a hunter, and was transformed into a sage by the god Narada. He is said to have composed the Ramayana in 24,000 verses, which were later divided into seven books. The Ramayana is one of the most important works of Hindu literature and is still widely read and studied today. Valmiki is also said to have written the Ramayana's sequel, the Uttara Kanda, which is believed to have been composed in the 4th century CE. He is also credited with writing the Valmiki Ramayana, a version of the Ramayana which is still popular today. Valmiki is also said to have been the teacher of Luv and Kush, the sons of Rama and Sita. He is said to have taught them the Ramayana and other Vedic texts. He is also said to have been the author of the Valmiki Ramayana, a version of the Ramayana which is still popular today.
