Violet Hunt (1866-1942) was an English novelist and short story writer. She was born in London and educated at home. She began writing at an early age and published her first novel, The Maiden's Progress, in 1895. She wrote several more novels, including The Way of a Maid (1902), The Flurried Years (1904), and The Lady of the Manor (1908). She also wrote short stories for magazines such as The Yellow Book and The Savoy. Her work was praised by critics for its psychological insight and vivid descriptions of London life. Hunt was a member of the literary circle known as the Rhymers' Club, which included W.B. Yeats and Ernest Dowson. She was also a friend of the novelist Henry James.
