Zephaniah was a prophet in the Old Testament of the Bible. He was the son of Cushi, a descendant of King Hezekiah of Judah. He prophesied during the reign of King Josiah of Judah, around 640-609 BC. His prophecies focused on the coming judgment of God against the wickedness of the people of Judah and Jerusalem. He also warned of the coming destruction of the city of Jerusalem and the exile of the people of Judah. He also spoke of the restoration of the people of Judah and the coming of a new era of peace and prosperity.
