Rozitchner was fond of calling his investigation initiated in La Cosa y la Cruz a study in the three Oedipuses: Greek, Jewish, and Christian. In part, he meant this as a corrective to some of Freud's most central tenets, which Rozitchner believes are overly tied to a Greek and Jewish understanding of the Oedipal complex, just as he faults Lacan for not acknowledging the extent to which his own understanding of the matrix of subjectivity is actually profoundly Christian and thus strangely un-Freudian.
