Away down on the other side of the Lawn, Mrs. Jenkins is serving out afternoon tea to her guests and their friends. The old lady is very happy as she looks at the bright faces and listens to the happy laughter of the young people. Now and again she listens to her husband's more solid topic of conversation, as he discourses and argues with his male friends about his pet hobbythe Australian Navy.
She hears one of his friends saying, "Oh, we are all right! A Navy is an expensive undertaking. We can always depend on the motherland."
