In March 1925, Hitler was banned from public speaking in Bavaria, and many other regions shortly after that. Confined to speaking at private Party members' meetings, Hitler used this time to travel around Bavaria meeting local Party branches, and for a time again retreated from public life to finish the second volume of Mein Kampf. During this period, he deputized Gregor Strasser, who had previously won a seat in the Reichstag for the NSFB, to organize the Party in northern Germany on his behalf.
