Aristophanes was an ancient Greek playwright, born around 446 BC and died circa 386 BC. He is known as the master of Old Comedy, a theatrical genre characterized by its satirical and often political content. Aristophanes wrote approximately 40 plays, with 11 surviving in complete form, including "Lysistrata," "The Clouds," and "The Frogs."
