Arthur Willis Colton (1876-1951) was an American author and journalist. He was born in New York City and attended Columbia University. He worked as a reporter for the New York Times and the New York Tribune before becoming a freelance writer. Colton wrote several books, including The Story of the American Flag (1917), The Story of the Constitution (1919), and The Story of the Declaration of Independence (1921). He also wrote several novels, including The White Flag (1919) and The Red Flag (1921). Colton was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of the National Press Club and the Authors League of America. He was a member of the American Historical Association and the American Political Science Association. Colton died in 1951 in New York City.
