C.P. Snow

Charles Percy Snow was a British novelist and scientist born on October 15, 1905, in Leicester, England. He studied at the University of Leicester and later at Christ's College, Cambridge, where he earned his Ph.D. in physical chemistry. Snow worked as a research chemist before turning to writing full-time. His first novel was published in 1932, but it was not until the publication of "The Masters" series that he gained widespread recognition. In addition to his literary career, Snow served as a Labour Member of Parliament from 1951 to 1977 and held various government positions, including Minister of Science from 1964 to 1965. He was also a prominent advocate for science education and the arts. Snow's most famous work is probably "The Two Cultures," a lecture he delivered in 1959 that argued for greater understanding between scientists and artists.
