Broad Arrow by Caroline Leakey
In the late 1800s, a young woman named Caroline Leakey is determined to make her own way in the world. She leaves her home in England and travels to Australia, where she takes a job as a governess on a remote sheep station.
Caroline quickly discovers that life on the station is far from easy. The station is run by a tyrannical overseer, and the other workers are suspicious of her. She also finds herself in the middle of a bitter feud between two powerful families.
When Caroline discovers a mysterious symbol carved into a tree, she is drawn into a dangerous game of intrigue and deception. As she unravels the secrets of the past, she must also confront her own fears and prejudices. In the end, Caroline must decide whether to stay and fight for what she believes in, or to flee and start a new life.
