In the small town of Sisie, a young girl named Lizzie is struggling to make sense of her life. She is the daughter of a single mother, and her father is absent from her life. She is also dealing with the death of her beloved grandmother, who was her only source of stability and comfort. Lizzie's life is further complicated when she meets a mysterious stranger, who claims to be her father. He tells her that he has been searching for her for years, and that he wants to make up for lost time. Lizzie is hesitant to trust him, but she is also desperate for a father figure in her life. As Lizzie and her father get to know each other, she discovers that he is a former soldier who has been struggling with PTSD. She also learns that he is a talented musician, and that he has been writing songs about her. Lizzie's life is further complicated when her mother begins dating a new man, and Lizzie is forced to confront her own feelings of jealousy and abandonment. As she navigates her complicated relationships with her father, her mother, and her new boyfriend, Lizzie must learn to accept the past and embrace the future. Through her journey of self-discovery, Lizzie learns to find strength in her own voice and to trust in the power of love.
