Edgar Saltus

Edgar Saltus (1855–1921) was an American author and essayist. He was born in New York City and educated at Columbia University. He wrote a number of novels, including The Philosophy of Disenchantment (1889), The Anatomy of Negation (1890), and The End of the World (1895). He also wrote several collections of essays, including The Philosophy of Disenchantment (1890), The Anatomy of Negation (1890), and The End of the World (1895). He was known for his dark, pessimistic view of life, and his writing was often compared to that of Oscar Wilde and Ambrose Bierce. He died in 1921 in New York City.
