The Ways of Little Courts

The story revolves around the French aristocracy during the Bourbon Restoration period. It follows the life of a young and beautiful widow, Madame de Bargeton, who seeks to regain her social status by marrying into nobility. She sets her sights on Monsieur de Montriveau, a wealthy and influential nobleman.
