The story takes place on a distant planet called Terra where humans have established a colony. The protagonist, a young girl named Aria, lives in an underground city with her family and the rest of humanity. The surface of Terra is uninhabitable due to toxic gases and extreme temperatures. Aria discovers that the planet's ecosystem is collapsing, and the only way to save it is by using a rare element called Xanthe. However, this element can only be found on the surface, making it impossible for humans to retrieve. Aria decides to take matters into her own hands and ventures out onto the hostile surface of Terra to find Xanthe. Along the way, she encounters strange creatures and unexpected allies who help her in her quest.
