John Gibson was a sculptor who lived during the Victorian era and was known for his neoclassical style. His most famous works include The Tinted Venus, Cupid and Psyche, and The Sleeping Beauty. He was born in Wales but spent much of his career in Italy, where he studied under Antonio Canova. Gibson's work was highly regarded during his lifetime and continues to be celebrated today for its technical skill and emotional depth.
