Jean Francois Millet was a French painter who lived from 1814 to 1875. He is best known for his paintings of peasant life and rural landscapes, which often depicted the hardships faced by working-class people in France during the mid-nineteenth century. Some of Millet's most famous works include "The Angelus," "The Gleaners," and "The Sower."
