The story takes place on a planet where the inhabitants are descended from Texans who were transported to another world through time travel. The planet's society is modeled after that of the American Old West, with cowboys and outlaws. A young man named Ken Ward becomes embroiled in a conflict between rival factions vying for control of the planet's resources.
