A Little Window: Flight

When twelve-year-old Lizzie's family moves to a small town in the Midwest, she is determined to make the best of it. But her new home is not what she expected. Her father is struggling to make ends meet, her mother is distant and preoccupied, and the townspeople are suspicious of outsiders. Lizzie finds solace in her love of birds and her passion for flight. She dreams of one day becoming a pilot, but her dreams are threatened when her father is laid off from his job. With no money to pay for flying lessons, Lizzie must find a way to make her dreams come true. With the help of her new friends, Lizzie embarks on a journey of self-discovery and courage. Along the way, she learns that with determination and hard work, anything is possible.
