Jean M. Snyder was born in Pennsylvania in the early 1900s. She was a teacher and librarian for many years, and wrote several books for children. Her most famous book, A Little Window: Stars, was published in 1955. It was a collection of stories about the stars, and was praised for its imaginative and poetic style. Snyder was also a member of the National Council of Teachers of English and the American Library Association. She died in the late 1970s.
