Jessie Redmon Fauset (1882–1961) was an influential African American novelist, poet, essayist, and editor associated with the Harlem Renaissance. She was born in Camden County, New Jersey, and graduated from Cornell University in 1905. Fauset worked as the literary editor for "The Crisis," the NAACP's magazine, where she played a crucial role in promoting African American literature.
