The Seven Lights
The Seven Lights is a novel by John Mackay Wilson, set in the early 20th century. It tells the story of a young man, David, who is sent to a remote Scottish island to investigate a mysterious light that has been seen in the night sky. David soon discovers that the light is connected to a mysterious group of seven people who are living on the island. With the help of his newfound friends, David must find a way to stop the darkness before it is too late.

In person, though of rather low stature than otherwise, he was stout, athletic, and active; bold and fearless in disposition, warm in temper, friendly, and hospitable--this last to such a degree that his house was never without as many strangers and visitors of different descriptions, as nearly doubled his own household.
