An Angel by Kate Simpson Hayes
Angel is a young girl living in a small town in the Midwest. She is a bright and creative child, but she is also struggling with her identity. She is the only biracial child in her school, and she is often teased and bullied for her differences. When Angel's family moves to a new town, she finds a new friend in the form of a mysterious girl named Lila. Lila is a guardian angel, sent to help Angel find her true identity and to protect her from the bullies. Together, Angel and Lila embark on a journey of self-discovery, learning to accept themselves and each other. Along the way, they face many challenges, including a dangerous encounter with a group of bullies. In the end, Angel learns to embrace her identity and to stand up for herself.
