Heroes by Kate Simpson Hayes (1910)
When a mysterious stranger arrives in the small town of Silver Creek, Colorado, he brings with him a secret that could change the lives of everyone in the town forever. The stranger, known only as "The Hero," is a mysterious figure who claims to have the power to grant wishes. He offers to grant the wishes of anyone in the town, but only if they are willing to pay a price. The townspeople are skeptical at first, but soon they come to realize that The Hero is not only real, but he is also a force for good. He helps the townspeople in their time of need, and even helps them to find their true purpose in life. But as The Hero's power grows, so does the danger. An ancient evil is stirring in the shadows, and it will take all of The Hero's strength and courage to protect the town from its dark influence. With the help of his newfound friends, The Hero must face his greatest challenge yet: to save Silver Creek from the forces of evil and restore peace and harmony to the town.
