Jim is a young boy who loves to explore the world around him. He loves to go on adventures and explore the outdoors. But when his parents move to a new town, Jim finds himself in a strange place with no friends. He soon discovers that the town is full of secrets and mysteries, and he sets out to uncover them. Along the way, he meets a variety of characters, from a mysterious old man to a talking cat, and learns about the town's history and the people who live there. As Jim discovers more about the town, he also discovers more about himself and the power of friendship.

Seemed t' me how all th' people had got soured in his steeple, / But for wimmin most of all he'd bitter thoughts; / But we got on quite congenial, him a gen'leman -- me menial, / And I got t' kind of likin' Jim -- -- in spots!
