Jane of Lantern Hill tells the story of Jane Stuart, a young girl living in Toronto with her mother and grandmother. Jane's father died when she was a baby, and her mother has never spoken of him. She makes new friends, learns to appreciate the beauty of the island, and discovers the power of family and friendship.
