Mack Reynolds (1917–1983) was an American science fiction writer. He wrote over 50 novels and more than 200 short stories. He was a prolific writer, and his works often explored social and political issues. He was a member of the Futurians, a group of science fiction writers and fans who met in New York City in the late 1930s and early 1940s. He was also a member of the Science Fiction Writers of America. Reynolds was born in California and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war, he worked as a journalist and editor before becoming a full-time writer. He wrote for a variety of magazines, including Galaxy Science Fiction, The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, and Analog Science Fiction and Fact. He was nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 1972 for his novel The Jagged Orbit.
