Manuel Acuña

Manuel Acuña (1849-1873) was a Mexican poet and playwright, known for his romantic and melancholic style. He was born in Saltillo, Coahuila, and studied medicine at the National School of Medicine in Mexico City. Acuña was part of the literary circle "Liceo Hidalgo" and gained fame for his poem "Nocturno a Rosario." His work often explored themes of love and despair. Acuña's life was tragically short; he died by suicide at the age of 24.
