The Guermantes Way by Marcel Proust

The Guermantes Way is the third volume of Marcel Proust’s seven-part novel, In Search of Lost Time. The novel follows the narrator, Marcel, as he navigates the social circles of the French aristocracy. The novel begins with Marcel’s arrival in Paris, where he is invited to a dinner party at the home of the Duc and Duchesse de Guermantes. Here, he meets the elite of Parisian society, including the Baron de Charlus, the Prince de Guermantes, and the Marquise de Villeparisis. The novel follows Marcel as he attends parties and social gatherings, and as he visits the homes of the aristocracy. He meets a variety of characters, including the Baron de Charlus, who is a homosexual, and the Prince de Guermantes, who is a snob. The novel also follows Marcel as he visits the home of the Duc and Duchesse de Guermantes, and as he visits the home of the Marquise de Villeparisis.
