Marjorie Pickthall (1883-1922) was a Canadian poet and novelist. She was born in London, England, and moved to Canada with her family in 1891. She attended the University of Toronto and graduated in 1906. Pickthall's first book of poetry, The Woodcarver's Wife, was published in 1912. Her other works include The Lamp of Poor Souls (1914), The Heart of the Ancient Wood (1915), and The Dreamers (1917). She also wrote several novels, including The Young May Moon (1917) and The Heart of the Ancient Wood (1919). Pickthall was a member of the Canadian Poetry Association and the Canadian Women's Press Club. She was also a founding member of the Canadian Authors Association. She died in 1922 at the age of 39.
