The Man With The Cough

The Man With The Cough is a classic children’s novel by Mary Louisa Molesworth. It tells the story of a young boy named Tom, who is sent to stay with his aunt and uncle in the country. While there, he meets a mysterious man with a persistent cough. Tom soon discovers that the man is a former soldier who is suffering from a mysterious illness. Tom and his aunt and uncle take the man in and care for him, and Tom soon learns the man’s story. He was a soldier in the Crimean War, and he was injured in battle. He was sent home to England, but his illness was never diagnosed. Tom and his family do their best to help the man, but his condition continues to worsen. Eventually, Tom discovers the cause of the man’s illness and is able to help him. With the help of a doctor, the man is cured and is able to return to his home in the country. Tom and his family are happy to have helped the man, and the story ends with the man thanking them for their kindness.
