Nina Rhoades (1863–1940), in full Cornelia Harsen Rhoades, was an American author of children's fiction. Born on 1 December 1863, she was a prolific writer of children's and juvenile fiction active in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, producing more than fifty books largely aimed at young readers and often featuring young female protagonists navigating family life, friendship, and coming-of-age circumstances — a popular genre for the period. Her notable works include The Children of the Top Floor, her most popular title, along with The Girl from Arizona, When Gretel Was Fifteen, Marion's Vacation, Silver Linings, Maisie's Merry Christmas, Ruth Campbell's Experiment, Priscilla of the Doll Shop, The Adventures of Joan, Brave Little Peggy, The Little Girl Next Door, and Little Miss Rosamond. Her books are now in the public domain. She died on 28 November 1940.
