Parker Fillmore

Parker Fillmore (1888-1966) was an American author and journalist. He was born in New York City and attended Harvard University, where he graduated in 1910. He then worked as a journalist for the New York Times and other newspapers. Fillmore wrote several books, including The American Language (1921), which was a pioneering work on the history of the English language in the United States. He also wrote several novels, including The Great Adventure (1925) and The White Tower (1930). He was a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the National Institute of Arts and Letters.
