Richard Jefferies (1848-1887) was an English naturalist and writer. He is best known for his novel The Pageant of Summer (1886), which is set in the Wiltshire countryside and is considered a classic of English pastoral literature. He also wrote several other novels, including After London (1885) and The Story of My Heart (1883).
