Rocklynne (born Ross Rocklynne, July 16, 1908 – December 28, 1988) was an American science fiction writer. He wrote more than 100 stories and novelettes for the science fiction magazines of the 1930s and 1940s. Rocklynne was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and attended the University of Iowa. He worked as a newspaper reporter and editor in Des Moines and later in Hollywood, California. He wrote for the pulps, including Amazing Stories, Astounding Stories, Startling Stories, Thrilling Wonder Stories, and Weird Tales. Rocklynne's stories often featured a strong female protagonist, and he was one of the first science fiction writers to explore the idea of time travel. He was also known for his vivid descriptions of alien worlds and civilizations. Rocklynne died in 1988 in Los Angeles, California.
