
The Matrix is a science fiction action film released in 1999, written and directed by the Wachowski Brothers. Neo and the rebels eventually discover that the Matrix is a computer program designed to enslave humanity. They must find a way to destroy the Matrix and free humanity from its control. In the end, Neo sacrifices himself to save humanity and the Matrix is destroyed.
