A.E.W. Mason

A.E.W. Mason (1865–1948) was an English author, poet, and soldier. He is best known for his 1902 novel The Four Feathers, which was adapted into several films. Mason was born in Gravesend, Kent, and educated at Dulwich College. He served in the British Army, rising to the rank of major, and fought in the Second Boer War. He wrote several novels, including The Courts of the Morning (1929) and The Prisoner in the Opal (1928). He also wrote several plays and collections of poetry.
