The book AGREE WITH THINE ADVERSARY by Charles Kingsley is a novel that was published in 1859. It tells the story of a young man named John who travels to Italy and falls in love with a beautiful woman named Francesca. However, he discovers that she has been promised to another man, and so he decides to leave her. But before he does, they agree to meet again at a certain place on a certain day. When the day comes, John arrives at the appointed spot only to find that Francesca is not there. He is heartbroken and begins to wander aimlessly through the countryside until he meets an old man who tells him a story about a young couple who were also in love but whose relationship was forbidden by their families. The old man's tale inspires John to continue his journey, and eventually he finds Francesca again. They are reunited and live happily ever after.
