A curious girl named Dolly asks her white kitten why it's not tabby like its siblings. The kitten tells a fantastical tale of seeking fortune, discovering a room filled with food and treasures, but then encountering a monstrous creature that steals its tabby skin, leaving it without a skin. The kitten claims it had to get a new white skin because the cat-skin shop didn't have any tabby ones in its size. Dolly is skeptical, and the kitten becomes offended, refusing to speak to her again.
