A young woman marries a king who has been cursed to sleep for eternity. She must leave her home and family to live with him in the castle. The curse is broken when she is awakened by her lover's kiss, but not before she gives birth to twins.

But it happened that once when the Queen was bathing, a Frog crept out of the water on to the land, and said to her, "Your wish shall be fulfilled. Before a year has gone by, you shall have a daughter."
