Maid Maleen
The story revolves around a princess named Maid Maleen who is imprisoned in a tower by her father after being tricked into marrying a wicked man. She is rescued by a prince but the marriage is short-lived due to the prince's death at the hands of his own brother, also a suitor for Maid Maleen's hand. Maid Maleen returns home and is reunited with her father who had been searching for her. However, she soon discovers that her father has remarried and has a new daughter. The stepmother treats Maid Maleen poorly and forces her to do menial tasks. One day, the wicked brother of the prince who killed him appears at the castle seeking revenge against Maid Maleen's family. He is thwarted by the arrival of the prince's loyal servant who had been searching for his master's killer. The story concludes with Maid Maleen marrying a nobleman and living happily ever after.

There was once a King who had a son who asked in marriage the daughter of a mighty King. She was called Maid Maleen, and was very beautiful. As her father wished to give her to another, the Prince was rejected.
But since they both loved each other with all their hearts, they would not give each other up, and Maid Maleen said to her father, "I can and will take no other for my husband."
