The story revolves around two young girls, Snow-White and Rose-Red, who live with their father in a small cottage. They are kind and gentle, but also fiercely protective of each other. One day, they encounter a bear that has been living in the forest, and despite its initial ferocity, it becomes a loyal companion to the sisters. The bear is eventually killed by a group of miners who mistake it for a wild animal. The girls are devastated by the loss of their beloved pet, but they continue to live in the cottage with their father. A short time later, a wealthy old man moves into the cottage and marries Snow-White's mother. He brings his own daughter, Rose-Red, to live with them, causing tension between the two girls who share the same name. The story takes a dark turn when the old man dies, leaving behind a large inheritance that is contested by various relatives. The sisters are forced to navigate this complex web of relationships and rivalries in order to secure their future. Ultimately, Snow-White marries one of her suitors, while Rose-Red remains single but content with her life.
