George Gordon Byron, 6th Baron Byron, commonly known simply as Lord Byron, was a British poet, peer, and politician who lived from 1788 to 1824. He is regarded as one of the greatest British poets and remains widely read and influential. Among his best-known works are the lengthy narrative poems Don Juan and Childe Harold's Pilgrimage, as well as the short lyric She Walks in Beauty. He is also remembered for his support of the Greek War of Independence and his flamboyant lifestyle.
