Described as a “romantic novel of the South Seas,” Deschard of Oneaka is the story of a young man from the South Pacific island of Oneaka. Deschard is a native of the island, but he is also a descendant of a French nobleman who had been shipwrecked on the island many years before. Deschard is a handsome and intelligent young man, and he is determined to make something of himself. He sets out to sea in search of adventure and fortune, and soon finds himself in the middle of a dangerous and exciting voyage. Along the way, he meets a beautiful young woman named Lola, who is also from Oneaka. The two quickly fall in love, and Deschard is determined to make her his wife. However, Deschard soon discovers that Lola is already betrothed to another man, and he must fight for her hand in marriage. He also discovers that his noble heritage has made him a target for those who wish to take advantage of him. Deschard must use all of his courage and wit to survive the many dangers he faces and to win the heart of the woman he loves.
