Robert Sheckley (1928-2005) was an American science fiction author. He wrote over 15 novels and more than 100 short stories, many of which were adapted into films and television shows. He was a master of satire and dark humor, and his stories often featured absurdist elements. He was a three-time Hugo Award nominee and a two-time Nebula Award nominee. He was also a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. Sheckley's work has been translated into more than a dozen languages and continues to be widely read and appreciated.
