Wilhelm Hauff

Wilhelm Hauff (1802-1827) was a German poet and novelist. He was born in Stuttgart, Germany, and studied at the University of Tübingen. He wrote several short stories and novels, including The Severed Hand, which was published in 1826. Hauff was a prolific writer, and his works were popular during his lifetime.
