Uncle Wiggily Longears, a bunny rabbit gentleman, lives in a hollow stump bungalow with Nurse Jane Fuzzy Wuzzy. One morning, he is urged to get up by Baby Bunty, a lively little rabbit girl who has come to live with him. Bunty is full of energy and eager to gather May flowers. Uncle Wiggily, feeling lazy, plans to nap instead, but Bunty surprises him by making roller skates out of clothespins and skating away. Alarmed by Nurse Jane's warning about potential danger from a fox, Uncle Wiggily chases after Bunty. Despite his initial reluctance, the chase invigorates him, and they enjoy gathering flowers together. The story highlights themes of adventure, the rejuvenating power of youthful energy, and the importance of companionship.
